December 20, 2006 5:58 pmJuly102006The Glads are Lost in Tyme!
Seasons greetings one and everyone. Okay, so yes it has been a
while and no we won't be playing any time soon but we are out in print
and on CD as well. Lost
in Tyme is a really great magazine out of Greece. Issue number
three is hot off the press and as well as covering the international
Garage/Surf/Rock 'n' Roll scene, this issue features a lengthy
interview with your Glads and a previously unreleased song on their
compilation CD. How cool is that? For ordering info, go here. This mag is
chock full of articles on cool bands that you absolutely have to hear,
which you can hear on their action-packed 30 song CD
compilation. The whole thing is wrapped up in wicked cool art by our
pal Darren Merinuk, the dude who designs our CDs, t-shirts and
stickers. Squares beware, this thing is for cool cats only. That's all
the news for now. Have a fun and safe holiday season. Take the care.
July 10, 2006 7:16 pmJuly102006Summertime.
And the livin' is easy.....
Once again, your Glads are
on vacation. Enjoy the Summer. Have a barbecue. Pop a cold one. Watch a
baseball game. Get out to some
shows. If you are interested in some Glads related shows, why not dig
Nathaniel and his bands The Fortunate Sons
and Golden Famile.
Check out Jim and RunStop
Restore. Or dig Patrick and Tim in their new combo The Solid Senders.
Patrick is still helping Merle Knurling to
make out with some rock songs. So go for a swim at the cottage and then
dry off and head back to town for some Summertime rock action. See you
in the Autumn? Hot dog!
April 2, 2006 9:29 amjan012006Glads a poppin'.
Gladiolas? Perhaps. Well... Spring has returned and so have your
Glads. We have a show booked for Good Friday. Look out Toronto, let's
Elmo a Go Go. Join
The Glads with their good pals The Midways, The
Leather Uppers and good ol' Desecratin' friend/fiend Mississippi Grover on Friday
April 14th upstairs at The Elmocambo
on Spadina
in Toronto. See the shows
section for directions.
Also, three of your Glads are playing two separate shows the week
before and the schedule is set up so you won't miss a note. First off,
guitar player Jim is rocking The Carleton Tavern with his hot pop combo
RunStop
Restore on Saturday April 8th - 2:30 PM. There's a gourmet sausage
BBQ as well as performances by The
Flaps, Andrew Vincent &
The Pirates and Chris Page.
Visit Kelp Records for more
information.
Once your belly is full of weiners, quarts and rock, take a bus over to
Irene's Pub on Bank. Patrick and Tim have a new R&B, Garage,
Frat-Rock combo called The Solid
Senders. They are making their debut perfomance in an opening
slot for Nick Danger & The Danger
City Rebels. Showtime is at 10PM. Visit Birdman for more info. Tim and
Patrick comprise the rhythm section of this happening new beat combo
along with Jake Heartbreak from The
Weapons of Mass Seduction, Eric from Daydream Square and Marie-Camille of
The Jezebelles. A debut LP was
recorded just last week. Hot stuff! Everyone is
pretty excited about the whole operation. Don't miss any of this
action. And you can
probably check out some yard sales between sets. Winter is over. Get
out of your house. See you on the sidewalk.
February 10, 2006 7:16 pmjan012006Shake break.
Hey people. Thanks for coming out to our show last month. Cheers
to The Maynards for rocking it in style with us. We're taking a couple
of weeks off for now. Be back soon with some new tunes to hammer out.
In the meantime all of your Glads are keeping busy with other cool
projects. Nathaniel is still grooving with Golden Famile and blasting it out
with The Fortunate Sons, Tim
and Patrick are working out a new thing, playing "the deep end" in a
five piece Rhythm and Beat combo called The Solid Senders, Patrick has been
playing some gigs with old Merle
Knurling, drummer Tim just bought a wicked cool Harmony guitar
and has been in the basement concocting his own brand of sludgeabilly
rock and roll, and Jim, I think Jim is still making cool as hell pop
music with his brother and their Centertown cohorts. Okay, that's all
the news for now. Enjoy the Olympic games and we'll see you at the pub.
